Burgundy Flower Wedding | Nerina and Matteo

There is something I like more about dark red flowers than I do about other shades. I mean, all flowers are beautiful and different surroundings go with different hues. But when a bride asks me for dark, chocolate, wine-red, velvety florals, my heart just starts to sing. I get instantly exited about the daring challenge, the luscious and sexy opulence I have been given to create. Nerina and Matteo decided to put their trust in me with these parameters and the results are visible here below. All beautifully captured by Milos from FunkyBird Photography

Maddy and Sam | Maremma luxury wedding in Italy

After a lifetime of friendship this beautiful couple decided to tie the knot in Maremma Tuscany on the beautiful wine estate of Conti di San Bonifacio. Maddy and Sam had been friends sinds middle school and their love is as beautiful as they are. There was such warmth and heartfelt kindness between both families and it was absolutely wonderful to see them come together.

Weather wise it must have been one of the oddest days of the year. All day long it was incredibly hot and I was amazed to see that the flowers didn't entirely bailed on me :) The usually delicate and fragile peonies proved to be the strongest flowers ever and were in even better conditions than the roses. Only moments before the ceremony a storm decided to pass right in front of us. As in: a curtain of black rain literally slided across the sky for approximately 20 minutes, but luckily it kept it's safe distance and then just disappeared, as if it had never just threatened to play tricks on te entire wedding.

Maddy liked a lot of rose gold accents for the dinner table so the artisan Tuscan made candles with metallic finish were a perfect match. Lots of soft pinks, peaches and whites complimented the venue and olive green of the groves.

The entire team worked so hard to make sure all the details were perfect and Milos from FunkyBird Photography captured everything very elegantly. Angelo la Torre sent us a beautiful cinematographic trailer which you can enjoy here: https://vimeo.com/229255745 A special thank you to Bryony from Entourage for organising everything and inviting us into her team.

Indian wedding in Tuscany | Puja and Viral

I was contacted by Amoré weddings London who asked me if I was available to arrange the floral decorations for this 3 day Indian wedding in Tuscany. How to refuse such a wonderful opportunity! I especially love how the mandap turned out, sò many colours and yet so delicate. A big shout out to my team who worked around the clock with me to make this happen! And a big thank you to Donatella Barbera and Damiano Salvadori for the photos of the ceremony.

From the bride and groom:

On behalf of Viral and I we would like to say a VERY big thank you to you all for your beautiful work throughout our wedding events earlier this month. We were more than stunned by the sensational displays you worked so hard to produce and we have been so impressed by how you understood and shared our vision. Thank you to you all! We have received so many compliments on the Indian mandap and decor and we cannot wait to see the photos!  You worked tirelessly in the early hours of the morning and you have been nothing short of professional, flexible and approachable.

Thank you for helping to make our wedding dreams come true!

With love and best wishes to you all. Puja and Viral

Once upon a time ..

How can anyone resist working in a place where the famous Mona Lisa was born! Yes I am talking about the mysteriously smiling woman portrayed by Leonardo da Vinci. The surroundings you see from the terrace are the ones depicted on the background of that same famous painting.

Our photographer Milos Dokmanovic had this location in mind for quite some time but we somehow never got round to organising something here. I was more interested in trying to do a white wintershoot to be honest and I was also not sure we could gain interest from such a stunning location for a styled shoot. But when we finally did contact them they were sò incredibly enthusiastic and on the day itself did seriously everything to accomodate our needs, that I consider this the best photoshoot experience yet.

So on a sunny day in June we headed out with an entire team of experts to Villa Vignamaggio and did some seriously romantic stuff. Luscious creamy peonies and white o’hara roses were my main choice and really complimented the uber-romantic wedding dress by Regina Schrecker sposa.

Thanks to the wonderful kitchen and home supply shop Bartolini we managed to get our hands on a Vera Wang dinner set and beautiful golden cutlery. So a BIG thank you to them for trusting us with such delicate table ware.

We all really had a lot of fun that day and I hope everyone’s efforts shines through. Can’t wait to do the next one!

Styled shoot at Valdirose charming rooms

I received an email from Fine and Fleurie's Jessica Santos Gallo right in the middle of wedding season. She wanted to know if I was available to do a styled shoot in this beautiful place near Florence, Valdirose a small but lovely B&B. At first I was very hesitant because I'd had back to back weddings and a lot more coming up, but how to refuse such an enthusiastic collaboration? And so I gathered some beautiful blooms, vases and my scissors to go up on the hills and have a day of fun with the girls. Nadia Meli captured all the beauty on camera and while we were playing around, Irene and Paolo cooked up some wonderful things for us to enjoy. Greta from Casting Firenze was our model made even more beautiful by Lara Navarrini hair and make-up.

Willeke and Rutger

From the wedding planner: On a sunny day Willeke and Rutger came to Tuscany to find a venue and church for their wedding. I remember taking them to one of my favourite wedding locations, a romantic chapel surrounded by vineyards. Exactly as one would expect when coming to Tuscany. Upon arrival Willeke and Rutger looked at each other and knew right there and then that it was the perfect place for them.
From where we were standing I pointed to the castle where we would go right after. Standing on a hilltop this castle is everything a couple might want, and after we visited it together they absolutely agreed! They wanted both the civil and religious ceremony and right next to the castle stands a romanesque church built in 1000 a.d. Perfect!

It didn’t take long for them to decide and very soon after their visit we received the Save the Date and started planning their Tuscan wedding weekend with lots of personalised details such as the Alfa Romeo Spider 1600 with their wedding date on the license plate. The wedding date was also sown into the suit of the groom and of course we hàd to play around with sparklers at night to make sure none of the guests would forget 20-06-2014.

From the florist: For the church decoration we decided to go with lots of peach coloured avalanche roses and babies breath.  The bouquet was a mix of peach, grey and white and looked beautiful together with the brides delicate but stunning lace wedding dress. Of course we did not forget the little flower girls and made wreaths of babies breath for them and little flower baskets to carry as they walked down the aisle.
On the dinner table we decided to add some DIY elements and sprayed tin cans and prosecco bottles in gold and copper tones.  All of this filled with Sweet pea, peach coloured stock flowers, hypericum berries and white lisianthus. Instead of going with the usual white candles we preferred grey ones and peach paper lanterns were hanging down from the balcony.

We really enjoyed working with Willeke and Rutger and FunkyBird Photography captured the whole day perfectly. The delicate colours and beautiful surroundings shine through on all the images.

Romantic Bridal shoot in Florence

From FunkyBird PhotographyOn a lovely April spring day we had the privilege to do this inspired bridal shoot. We had been walking around with the idea for a while so we were very exited when we finally made all the arrangements and got everybody on board for this collaboration.

The location is one of Tuscany’s pearls. Villa di Maiano is situated just below Fiesole on the outskirts of Florence, Italy and from there you have breathtaking views on the surrounding hills. The staff was just wonderful and we were so lucky to have Alexandra around helping us.

We wanted to create a very romantic look and with the help of Mrs Moradei from Morbar bridal atelier we chose two magnificent handcrafted pieces that fit our model Letizia perfectly. Ombretta and Catarina completed the look with two different hairstyles and make up to suit the various locations we wanted to shoot.

A stunning bridal bouquet with soft peach and golden garden roses. Lots of greenery and colorful poppies for the table setting to give just that bit of spark and playfulness, FunkyBird knows how to make flowers speak romance.

The girls from Trouwen in Toscane have definitely made this a unique experience which we hope to repeat again soon.
